My New BlendTec Blender

So, I just received my commercial grade BlendTec blender.  Chose this one after checking out the videos of it chewing up bricks and electrical component.  Figure if it can handle that, it should easily blend whole fruits and veggies.

Hit the market and picked up some watercress, spinach, and chard.  Washed it up and chunked it in the blender.  Worked like a charm.

I am loving the world of green smoothies.

Anyone else mixing up fruits and veggies?  Any recommended combinations?

So, J.D., don't we plan on giving away one of those BlendTec blenders to a lucky member of the site?

Looking at getting one of those. Definitely hear about both the BlendTec and the Vitamix models when researching green smoothies.

Any ideas of the pros and cons of each?

Thanks -

I have a VitaMix blender and absolutely love mine. Handles all kinds of greens, fruit, and veggies. Even makes great soups.

Have learned that if you drink veggies everyday to rotate up the greens and veggies you are using. I'm not sure why this is, but apparently taking in high concentrations of the same greens over and over again can lead to an unhealthy build up of alkaloids that are specific to that ingredient.

Ever hear anything about that?
